Manitoulin Island and Gore Bay are closer than you think!

Accessible year-round off the TransCanada Highway via Espanola and the stunning La Cloche hills, the Inn at Gore Bay is a 45-minute drive from the Swing Bridge in Little Current. Ferry service, aboard the Chi-Cheemaun from Tobermory in southern Ontario, is available from late May through October.

The U.S. border crossing at Sault Ste. Marie is just a few hours away – it’s even quicker if you come by boat! – and with regular, competitive air service from the Greater Toronto Area to Sudbury, getting here has never been easier.

Once arrived, there’s plenty to do.

The newly improved boardwalk meanders from the Inn at Gore Bay over streams and marshland – perfect for bird watching or spotting deer – circling the water towards downtown shops.

Ending at the Harbour Centre, you’ll discover artists’ studios, the Maritime Museum, boat rentals, a lively eatery and craft brewery, and a swimming beach. The waterfront also hosts holiday celebrations and a Farmer’s Market on Fridays, from May through October.

And, sitting at the foot of Gore Bay’s towering East Bluff, theInn is a stone’s throw from the escarpment’s nature trail and breathtaking lookouts over the North Channel.

Nearby attractions, a short drive away, include swimming at Tobacco Lake (10 min.), a riverside stroll to Bridal Veil Falls (15 min.) or the Cup and Saucer Trail (30 min.), a moderate hike leading to panoramic views from Manitoulin’s highest elevation.

The sandy expanse of Providence Bay Beach on the Island’s South Shore, one of Northern Ontario’s finest for sun and surf, is just a half-hour’s drive. Or, head for Manitoulin’s wilder West End to explore the spectacular nature trails of Misery Bay Provincial Park, about 40 minutes away.
