We are now in 2019 and with the start of this new year, brings in the promised renovations of the basement of The Inn at Gore Bay. It started by the delivery of some drywall. Then, drywall was put up to cover all the wonderful spray foam from December. We are currently in the mud and tape phase of the renovations. Every time I go downstairs to look at the progress, I smile. When we re-opened as the Inn at Gore Bay last June 2018, the basement smelt, housed years of odd dishes, tables and broken chairs. Now, the smell is gone, the room feels brighter and definitely warmer.
The room has still not been defined, but it is definitely coming together to enable the space to be re-imagined as something wonderful! January is always such a wonderful month of juxtapositions. It is the beginning of the year and also usually very cold. However, the sun stays out just a little longer than in December. To me this is the time for contemplation, renewal and a wonderful time to create.
This period of contemplation, renewal and creativity is currently happening at the Inn and I can't wait to share with you all, the fruits of thes labours! For now, I leave you with some pictures of the process!
Have a great Month of January! Stay warm and create!
Regards from The Inn at Gore Bay
